They switched my location from USA to RUSSA.
I've tried for months to get it resolved.
Their reply. Spend more money to correct their mistake.
Their hands are tied unless I SPEND MORE MONEY.
I will not spend another dime with this company until they fix THEIR error. Since that's not likely to happen I will go out of my way to not spent any money to support this company.

I bought two Steam cards at GameStop for the amount of $50 each. I attempted to use them but was informed that they were already used.
The seal was still over the code, so I'm unsure how that happened. I sent proof to Steam support, who finally replied instructing me to log into steampowered.com.
I don't have an account there and there seems to be no way for me to create one. I've tried.

Ive been a loyal Steam user for over 10 years, but my recent experience with their support team has been beyond frustrating. My credit card, which Ive successfully used on Steam and other platforms for years, was suddenly restricted without any prior notification.
When I reached out to their support, they claimed the restriction was due to potential disputes or unauthorized activity.
To confirm, I contacted my bank, and they assured me there were no issues on their end. This clearly indicates the problem is with Steam, yet when I explained this to their support team, I was met with indifference.
Instead of addressing the issue, they provided me with completely impractical solutions:
Use retail stores or online shops to buy Steam cards My country isnt even listed in their supported stores, leaving me vulnerable to potential scams.
Use a different payment method Ive repeatedly explained that I only have one payment method, and Im not going to incur extra costs to get a new card just for Steam. When I asked if Steam would cover these costs, they ignored the question entirely.
To make matters worse:
Theyve closed 3 of my tickets with an automated response.
Ive requested to escalate the issue to a supervisor more than three times, yet Ive been completely ignored.
Its clear their main goal is to get rid of customers quickly to maintain their support statistics, rather than actually resolving issues.
Steams lack of accountability, unhelpful responses, and poor customer care have completely eroded my trust in the platform.
If youre considering using Steam, be aware that if you encounter a payment issue, youll be left to deal with it on your own without proper support. Extremely disappointing from such a major company.

I lost my phone, lost that number, signed out of all devices, and none of my recovery codes for the authentication guard work. I can't get into my account now.

i have my bank card on that account and if it starts getting charged I'm in trouble. I've already spent thousands of dollars on that account so i need to get it recovered.
if i need someway to verify the account i can use my card number. ive tried to recover the account myself but nothing on the wizard is helping me and i cant and I'm really stressing out

Try figuring it out. It's not readable. Make it easier to scratch off without the numbers coming off. Also, make it easier to contact Support.

Steam used to be great in that a) it issued refunds within days of playing. Now you can't get one if you played for over 2 hours and that's the amount of time cutscenes take in the begining.
Steam used to answer questions so you could play the damn games.
No more. They can't even outsource. All emails are blocked. No humans can be reached.
If you have a game and Steam ruins it.
Too bad. Steam HATES you.
