Steam -- For Computer Geeks Only
One by one my Steam purchased games stop working. Typically Steam is trying to update a file that Steam loaded and now can't find.
It started with TotalWar Shogun2, then Hearts of Iron2, then Hearts of Iron3. The games work fine as long as they aren't updated. When approached Steam provides complicated explanations of possible causes and various solution scenarios, eventually referring me to the game manufacturer. I'm running Windows10 on an Alienware Area51.
I want to play a game not become a computer techie. Seriously, if the service loads a game automatically it should be capable of updating the file in the same default folders that it created at the outset, right? Finally I had to purchase physical copies of the games and load them outside Steam where they run just fine. Thanks, Steam, for wasting my money.
Hope you enjoy your profits. --Gary
